Drapery is the thing that turns a window from treated to designed. A roller shade gives you function. A drapery panel layered over a shutter or shade gives you fabric, texture, color, and softness — the difference between a room that does its job and a room that holds together. We do all four of the categories below in custom, measured-to-your-house fabrication.

Many local window-treatment shops on the Strand skip drapery entirely. We carry the full fabric library at Cherry Grove and we do panels, cornices, pillows, and motorized tracks all in-house. If you're outfitting a whole house, drapery should be on the same quote as the shutters and shades — not three vendors trying to coordinate fabric.

Drapery Questions

What we hear at the fabric wall.

Do you carry a fabric library?
Yes — the Cherry Grove showroom has fabric books from the major drapery houses. Coastal, nautical, tropical, traditional, contemporary, and indoor/outdoor lines all on the wall. Bring the rug or paint chip, and we'll match.
Can drapery be motorized?
Yes — motorized drapery tracks run on Hunter Douglas PowerView or compatible Somfy systems. Open and close from the app, the Pebble remote, or your smart-home system.
How long does a drapery order take?
4-6 weeks for custom drapery panels — they're cut to your exact ceiling-to-floor measure and sewn to spec. Motorized track adds a touch more lead time.
Should I do drapery over shutters or shades?
Often yes — layering drapery over a shutter or roller shade gives you the function of the hard treatment plus the softness and color of fabric. It's the difference between a window that does its job and a window that completes the room. We'll show you the layered look at the showroom.
